Modifying Inspectors
GAINS allows for configuration of inspectors on all screens through the Assembly View. The following example is conducted using the Forecast Details screen.
Accessing Inspector Customization
First, the screen must be cleared of all data by selecting the "Reset" button in the top right.
Clearing the Screen
Next, users may right click on any inspector and select the "Customize" option.
Customize Inspector
Alias Selection Pop-up
The Inspector Customization pop-up will appear. Users may select which user the changes will effect by selecting the folder icon in the top left of the screen. By default, the selected user will be whichever User is currently logged in. Changes can be made at specific user levels or at the Environment level to have changes affect all users. The top sections of this pop-up display the available alias types and aliases that may be used in each inspector. The bottom of the pop-up lists out the aliases currently being used in the inspectors. A user may double click any alias at the top to add it to the comprehensive list at the bottom. An alias can also be removed from the bottom section by double clicking it.
Alias Selection Pop-up
Furthermore, a calculation column can be added to the list of aliases displayed by selecting the "Add Calc Column" button. The "Calculation Column Setup" pop-up will display where users can write formulas using the alias list to be displayed in the inspectors. As shown in the example Calculation below for On Hand*Cost, aliases that can be used in the formula will be represented by Alias IDs.

Alias Organization Pop-up
By selecting "Apply field changes to component" at the top right of the first screen, users will be taken to the second page where further changes can be made. This screen mimics the Builder View modification screen. Users can rename the component, enable grouping, edit the model, and modify the inspector fields displayed on the screen. The aliases listed on the left side of this pop-up can be set as visible. On this screen, users can determine which inspector each alias will appear in by using the "Category" column. Changes may be saved by selected the "Save" button on the top right.

Customizing Grid
Grid Customization Pop-up
Users may select which users the following changes will affect by selecting the folder icon in the top left. By default, the selected user will be whichever User is currently logged in. Changes can be made at specific user levels or at the Environment level to have changes affect all users. From this pop-up several changes can be made. Notably, users may select the "Edit" button under the Model section to add/remove which fields will appear in the grid. The main table in this pop-up allows users to set which fields will be visible in the grid, allows for totals to appear at the bottom row of each column, and allows for adjustments in the widths of each column. All changes can be saved by selecting the "Save" button at the top right of the pop-up.

Grouped Headers
Grouped Headers can be customized and added at the bottom of the screen. Grouped Headers represent groupings of the selected fields that will display on the grids. As shown below, "History" and "Forecast" are Grouped Headers for columns 1-3 and 4-5 respectively. Selecting the + button brings up the "Adding Grouped Header" pop-up window which allows users to choose the title of the header and select the range of columns contained in the Grouped Header.

Adding Retrieval Components
Within the Assembly View, additional Components can be added to the Retrieval by selecting the "Add Fields" button at the bottom of the Retrieval. From here the Alias Manager Pop-up window is used to select any additional components the user wants to add to the Search Criteria. Note: these additional components do not persist across sessions in GAINS.
