Password Configuration
GAINS password configuration can be managed from within the Systems Administration screen.
Click on the 'Password Configurations' button to launch a pop-up where password settings can be adjusted and saved. Saved changes will prompt the administrator to choose whether to force a password reset that will apply on the next login for all users.
Password Configuration Definitions
| Minimum password length | Determines the least number of characters that a password must contain |
| Maximum password age (in days) | Determines the period of time (in days) that a password can be used before the system requires the user to change it |
| Number of passwords for check | Determines the number of unique new passwords that must be associated with a user account before an old password can be reused |
| Require at least one (1) uppercase character | Requires at least one (1) uppercase character is embedded in the password |
| Require at least one (1) lowercase character | Requires at least one (1) lowercase character is embedded in the password |
| Require at least one (1) number | Requires at least one (1) number is embedded in the password |
| Lockout Threshold | Determines the number of failed sign-in attempts that will cause a user account to be locked |

The amount of time that a locked-out account remains locked before automatically becoming unlocked |
| Forced chars in the password | Requires the use of a specific character in the password (i.e. !#$&%@) |
